With a new year, comes new intentions and for us most importantly we wish to create a business that has true purpose and meaning. For us, that means giving back. Our dreams had always been to cultivate a business that through creativity could help to make a difference in the world, however small. We are incredibly lucky with MOYO to have created a medium which can help spread both awareness and support for charitable causes and this pledge to give back is something that we are truly committed to.
Creating change with creativity
From this day forward we are proud to announce that sales of our memberships help to support Mind, a charity who for more than 60 years have been devoted to raising awareness of mental health and providing support networks for those who need it.
Mental health is an issue very close to my heart, with its effects having a direct impact on my own family. Its impacts have changed the course of my family’s life forever, in a direction that we never once anticipated. Truthfully, it is something that has dominated our lives, yet for the most part we have shared this aspect of it with very few, trusted people. Partly this is because my family are very private by nature, and also because we want to protect the people whose lives have been cruelly gripped by the struggles of mental illness, for the weight of its burden is heaviest for them.
Over time, we have adjusted, accepted and managed in our own ways to embrace this unknown journey, yet our daily thoughts are always with those whose own may be in a different or darker place. Whilst the fractures of mental illness have etched deep, permanent scars and we mourn for the life we once knew, we also have hope for what one day may be.
Through these difficult and life-altering times, we have been so fortunate to have experienced incredible support throughout. For this, we express our deepest gratitude and will be forever thankful for the kindness and support we have received. Since being thrown into this new world, I have been encouraged with the great social shifts that have happened this past decade. Great efforts are being made to highlight awareness for mental health in a bid to remove stigma and to encourage open conversations about it. It is now estimated that 1 in 4 people will be affected by mental health issues at some point in their lives, and so it is clear that now more than ever that we must continue to raise awareness and provide support for those who need it.
